Join us for an enthusiastic conversation about the book of Psalms from the Old Testament perspective

About the event
The event will feature Wycliffe's own John Screnock, presenting his new publications Reading Psalms with the Scribes and Psalms 90–100: A Handbook on the Hebrew Text. Expect an exciting new look at well-known biblical texts and meet the ancient Scribes through what we can see of their work.
Reading Psalms with the Scribes sets a new agenda for biblical studies, demonstrating the continued viability of textual criticism and challenging scholars to reintegrate and center textual criticism in within biblical studies generally.
There are many different manuscripts of Bible that contain variant readings. Whereas past scholars have seen this as a problem to be solved, we will suggest instead that it is an opportunity to engage the texts in a richer way.
Wycliffe Hall has set itself the modest task of fostering a New Renaissance of Christian scholarship, leadership and culture. As both a Christian community and a Permanent Private Hall of the University of Oxford, we want to see transformational scholarship, leadership and culture, born out of Christian community, offering the truth, beauty and goodness of the gospel to the world.
