June 8th marked Commissioning Day, when Wycliffe bid a formal farewell to this year's leavers as they prepare to take all they have learned into the wider world.
In their own words, here are some of the cohort's future plans. Please pray for them as they anticipate their fresh careers and new beginnings:
Russell Risden
"I've received a conditional offer to progress to the DPhil after my MSt. While I very much desire to return to Wycliffe, I'm open to whatever the Lord has in store next. ‘Fiat voluntas Dei’"
Regina Williams
"This program has been an incredible gift that has opened my eyes to the Bible in ways I never thought possible. I am grateful for the knowledge and understanding that I have gained through this program. As I return home, I am inspired to continue my study of theology and apply it to my mission of making the world a better place in accordance with God's plan. I am excited to see where this journey takes me and what I can achieve with this newfound understanding."
Krystal White
"I am hoping to serve in international student ministry and promote faith-science dialogue, helping students and people of all ages prayerfully think through the big questions of our age."
Steven Chen (Shih-Hsien Chen)
"I am going to the University of Toronto, Canada, to do my PhD in Systematic Theology."
Tarsha Coleman
"After completing my PGCE at Wycliffe, I have successfully secured a job as a History Teacher at The Bicester School for September. Living at Wycliffe Hall has been so incredible in my PGCE year - the people have supported me and the food has nourished me. Most of all, 4 Norham Gardens has become not just a house, but a home."
Caleb Angell
"I am hoping to return this fall, conditional on meeting the MSt's condition in my exams."
Ordinands
Simon James Billington
"I have been appointed as the Assistant Curate for the parish of St Michael's and All Angels in Wood Green, London. I've been inspired by the shoots of the Renaissance Project at Wycliffe to work towards integrating my background in theatre into the ministry to which I have been called."
Paul Nelson
"I'm moving on to be the Location Pastor of Gas Street South, in the Diocese of Birmingham. My curacy (starting in 2025) will be with Gas Street."
Lucy Davies
"I am going to St. Peter’s, Weston Super Mare, in the Diocese of Bath & Wells."
Josh Stenner
"I'm going to serve the parish Church of St Mary & St Nicholas in Littlemore, Oxford, where I will be the new assistant curate. I'm really looking forward to being sent out into a place of such opportunity and putting into practise all I have learned whilst in theological education, especially with the area's rich heritage and association with John Henry Newman."
Stephen Sodadasi
"I am going to Inspire St. James Church in London, as a Curate. I'm thoroughly looking forward to serving Jesus and his people in my new church having been shaped and formed at Wycliffe over the last 3 years!"
Wycliffe Hall also has ordinands going to first posts in the Dioceses of London (Willesden Area), Exeter, Hereford, Southwark, Blackburn, and Oxford.
