Exodus with Simon Vibert

Monday 10th November 2025, 5.15pm

Join us to hear from Revd Dr Simon Vibert on his Commentary on Exodus. Simon will be giving a short talk on this work, and selling copies of the book. Refreshments available.

About the event

Praise be to the Lord, who rescued you from the hand of the Egyptians and of Pharaoh, and who rescued the people from the hand of the Egyptians. Now I know that the Lord is greater than all other gods, for he did this to those who had treated Israel arrogantly.'
Exodus 18:10-11

Exodus is one of the greatest rescue stories ever told. Recording the people of Israel's dramatic escape from slavery in Egypt, it paves the way for the ultimate act of redemption in Christ.

Simon Vibert's commentary is a hope-filled illumination of this fantastic story. Retold for modern readers, it shows how God rescues his people, overcomes his enemies and brings himself glory - and what that means for our hope in Jesus Christ today.

Wycliffe Hall has set itself the modest task of fostering a New Renaissance of Christian scholarship, leadership and culture. As both a Christian community and a Permanent Private Hall of the University of Oxford, we want to see transformational scholarship, leadership and culture, born out of Christian community, offering the truth, beauty and goodness of the gospel to the world.
