Scott Olson, President and CEO of the global non-profit One Collective, discusses how he fuses classic leadership wisdom and the free-flowing improvisation of jazz. Includes live music, followed by refreshments.
Wycliffe Hall invites you to an evening packed with thought-provoking ideas, punctuated with live jazz. Scott Olson brings his theory of leadership ‘in the moment' and his experience as a professional jazz musician, to show us how, much like jazz, leading isn’t about having control—it’s about staying in tune.

About the event
This event is for everyone working in a position of leadership, or looking to enjoy an evening of Jazz. All are welcome!
With decades of global leadership experience and a relentless curiosity, Scott Olson has coached and consulted senior leaders across sectors, helping them drive meaningful transformation. Now, he is bringing his message of collaborative leadership to the public. Learn more about Lead Like Jazz, and follow Scott’s publishing journey on Instagram here
With performances from Oxford's own Gospel Jazz Project, who will also join us to illustrate Scott's talk, we will hear from Scott how the best modern leaders stay tuned in, responsive, and connected to what is unfolding right in front of them. Leading in the moment isn’t winging it; it’s the disciplined practice of listening deeply, adapting wisely, and showing up fully—again and again—no matter what the day throws at you.
Following Scott's talk, refreshments will be available.
Wycliffe Hall has set itself the modest task of fostering a New Renaissance of Christian scholarship, leadership and culture.
