Wycliffe receives a warm welcome in Texas, USA

Michael Lloyd, Principal, and Matthew Armstrong, Director of External Relations, had a busy schedule during their visit to Texas in early September.

Their visit to Texas was a testament to the strong network of friends Wycliffe Hall has in the region. They were hosted by many, including Summer School delegates, alumni, and long-standing and new friends in the vibrant cities of Houston and Dallas.

Michael had the privilege of speaking at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in the heart of Houston and The Church of the Incarnation in the bustling city of Dallas.

Revd. Dr. Suse McBay also preached at St. Martin's in their traditional service. The generous hospitality included several excellent dinners at friends' homes, some superb Tex Mex and Texan Barbeque, and a donor reception for those who support our Tutorial Fellow in Ministry and Preaching, Suse McBay.

Michael and Matthew also supported a St. John The Divine Episcopal Church (SJD) fundraiser at a Meet an Oxford Theologian Event.

In addition to enjoying solid relations with these church partners, they rekindled an old relationship at Dallas Theological Seminary, where they attended the Legacy Leaders Summit. Wycliffe Hall's fourth Principal, William Griffith Thomas, co-founded Dallas Theological Seminary with Lewis Sperry Chafer one hundred years ago.
